SOFROD is a continuous length
of extruded polyolefin foam made of a nonasorbing outer skin and a highly resilient
interior network of open and closed cells, which does not out-gas when ruptured.
FOAM-PAK II backer rod ia a non-gassing, soft, round, open cell polyurethane foam which is inserted into expansion or contraction joints. HBR backer rod is a backing for elastomeric and other cold-applied sealants. It is used in expansion and contraction joints to limit the amount of applied sealant, act as a barrier interface to prevent back side adhesion (bond-breaker), and provide a form to assist the sealant in developing the shape factor.
